Shaun Is In The City Across The Pond!

Our sister company UK2 are testing out our knowledge of Shakespeare with their competition in celebration of Shaun In The City!

In the United Kingdom Shaun the Sheep is a big deal: like Spongebob big. He was recently voted as Britain’s favorite cartoon character and has set out on the streets to raise money for a great cause. Businesses have gotten together to sponsor each sheep that will be later auctioned as a fundraiser for children’s hospitals across the UK.  Sometimes our office in the UK has all the fun, but this time we want our US readers to get in on the action…
Last week our Shaun the Sheep was launched with a twist; the really fun part is that each Shaun has been decorated by artists and celebrities and placed along a walking trail to promote this amazing cause. Our Shakespearean themed sheep titled ‘To Sheep Perchance to Dream’ has stolen our hearts (no really, he’s adorable). We might be a bit biased but we feel our sonnet-loving Shaun is the best of the 50 Shauns placed around the city (although the Hello Kitty-themed Shaun is a close second). To celebrate our adorable sheep UK2.net has launched a contest on our favorite social media source: Twitter! Here are the details straight from the UK2.net’s announcement blog:
Since finding out that our Shaun would be Shakespearean, we’ve come over all ‘to be or not to be’ and ‘wherefore art thou Romeo’. And so while the trail lasts (Shaun goes to auction to raise money for children’s hospitals after 25th May) we’re throwing a weekly competition over on our Twitter. Starting today (you can enter right now!) we’ll be posting our favorite Shakespeare quotes alongside some dashing photos of our lovely Shaun once a week, and all we need from you is the title of the play the quote is from.
To enter the competition, simply Tweet us @UK2 with the name of the play from which we have taken the weekly quote, and use the hashtag #UK2Shaun to make sure we see it. Competition closes at 5pm GMT weekly so we have time to pick our lucky winner.
